How FRASYL started
FRASYL was first born from a great friendship between a Quebecer and a Kenyan, France and Sylvester. It was in 2023 that they met while France was realizing her dream of experiencing a photo safari in the Masai Mara in Kenya. Sylvester was his guide during these two weeks and introduced him to the most beautiful species of wildlife that live in this protected park. This stay in Africa was so significant for France that she returned to Kenya at the beginning of 2024, this time for a month-long trip. Still guided by Sylvester, she explored other national parks and other regions of this fabulous country. Both of them, having a thirst for discovery and adventure, in addition to their great passion for wildlife and nature, the idea arose in them to team up to launch their safari business in Kenya. Sylvester dreamed of having his own business as a professional guide and France dreamed of introducing this country to as many Quebecers and North Americans as possible who are passionate about nature and the most fascinating things it offers us. The first safari with FRASYL will take place at the beginning of 2025. France and Sylvester can't wait to welcome their first safari guests and give them an unforgettable safari. You've been dreaming of it for a long time, don't wait any longer, time flies...

Sylvester
Professional silver level guide
Sylvester is a Maasai born in the Maasai Mara, a region of Kenya well known for its national park and wildlife. He grew up in the Mara plains and during his school breaks, he looked after his father's herds of animals. During this period, as a young boy, having mainly interacted with wildlife, he developed a passion for ecology and environmental protection. Throughout his childhood, he learned most of the behaviors and characteristics of the animals that lived in his environment. He observed a lot how elephants graze, how impalas interact, how lions roar, how cheetahs and giraffes run and how elusive leopards are, which fascinated him to the point of falling in love with them.
After his higher studies he joined a small camp where he was an intern as a valet and waiter. Because he was very motivated to become a professional guide, he asked the guides a lot of questions about animal behavior, so much so that most of them encouraged him to become a guide too. After a few years of working as a waiter and valet, he took a course in tourism management at the Kenya Utalii College tourism school to become a professional guide. He obtained his diploma after 2 years of study.
In 2015, he became a certified guide and began working for camps located in the Mara region. In total, he worked for 4 different camps as a full-time guide. With all the experience gained, Sylvester has the expertise to do safaris in different parts of Kenya with the knowledge of the best places to visit.
After these 9 years of experience, he acquired a lot of knowledge about Kenyan wildlife and he became a KPSGA “silver” level guide. He also has a great deal of knowledge in ornithology and botany. In his spare time, he also does wildlife photography, so he knows how to meet the needs of amateur or professional photographers.
In addition to Swahili and Maa languages, Sylvester speaks English perfectly.
With everything he has acquired in his profession, he is now ready to realize his biggest dream, that of having his own safari business. The start of 2024 is marked by the start of this great dream, with the launch of FraSyl Tours & Safaris. The start of a great adventure, destined to assured success.
If you have the chance to experience a safari with him, you will undoubtedly be delighted and enchanted by everything he will show you about Kenya and by everything he will teach you about wildlife. You will also be touched by his kindness, his generosity and all the attention he will give you.
France
Guide and photographer
France was born in Quebec, the Capital of the Province of Quebec in Canada. Throughout her childhood she traveled a lot with her parents, from there was born her passion for travel and her desire to discover the most beautiful regions of the world.
Curious by nature, France studied documentation techniques and obtained her diploma in 1991. To this day, France still works in this field and at the same time, from 2012, she developed a great passion for photography. She follows various courses and workshops allowing her to improve her skills, particularly in portrait photography. Her growing passion for photography led her to take on contracts for a few years but over time she realized that what really made her happy was when she found herself in nature to photograph landscapes and animals.
Wishing to meet other photography enthusiasts, in 2021 France joins the Dimension Photo Club. In 2022, another passion drives her, that of ornithology, so she joins the Club des ornithologues de Québec in order to learn more about birds.
In February 2023, France realizes her dream of experiencing a photo safari in the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya. She literally fell in love with this wild region. After this memorable trip, she only has one idea in mind: to return there as quickly as possible. The following year, she returned to Kenya, this time to discover more of the country, always guided by her friend Sylvester. It was during this trip that she felt in total harmony with nature, happier than ever. She is so fascinated by Kenya and the people who live there, that she wants to introduce this fabulous country to Quebecers and North Americans who have dreamed of going on a safari for a long time and who are passionate about nature.
